I was looking at one of Ridgids Hyper Octane batteries on Home Depots website and noticed a new video for the new Hyper Octane batteries/Octane tools. Part way through the video I noticed a new jigsaw that hasnt been announced yet. Ridgid posted their 2022 quarter 3 promotions a few weeks back and gave us a glimpse at the Octane 18v brushless jigsaw. It will be equipped with a brushless motor that can communicate with the Hyper Octane battery to provide more power for heavy loads.
My thoughts: I’ve noticed a lot of people on the Ridgid forums and on Facebook asking for an updated Jigsaw. And for good reasons. The X4 jigsaw is essentially the same as the X2 except that it has a hex grip textured rubber rubber overmold which gives it a more gripping surface. Ridgid took their time answering their customers request but thankfully it appears they didnt overlook anything on this new model. The saw has all the features that you would expect from a professional grade saw, including several orbital settings and a dust collection hook-up, as well as a brushless motor. It is an Octane tool so it should be able to cut through any material. This saw is also more powerful than the X4 model. I reached Ridgid to learn about their plans and they stated that it would be available in stores starting in September 2022.
