DrewBHAM spotted a new Ryobi cordless power tool and its the 18V One+ compact router model PCL424. DrewBHAM also found a few new Ryobi safety glasses.
Ryobi has been no stranger to cordless trim routers and have had them since before all the other brands started to make their own in recent years and theirs go as far back as the good ol blue Ryobi power tool days. This new model gets a new cosmetic design that breaks away from the aggressive styling of its predecessor model. Though it doesnt yet sport a brushless motor like many of the other cordless brands do, it does get an upgrade over the previous model in that it has variable speeds. You can set routing speeds between 20,000 and 30,000 RPM using the variable speed dial. The router has a fixed base that doesn’t plunge, but it also features a micro adjustment dial that raises and lowers the router bit for depth adjustments. It uses a small, clear base plate that is square in the front and rectangular in the back.
This model was found in a trio set that includes a Ryobi 18V Jigsaw and Sander. All three tools are baretools, meaning there is no charger or battery. Ryobi may sell the new router as an individual product for those who don’t need or want the additional tool.

Ryobis official press release has been released with some additional information. It will be available as a baretool and is expected to debut at the Home Depot in October 2022. We also have a new image as shown below.
As far as features go, theres not much that hasnt already been said but we do learn that this new compact router is said to be a little more compact than their previous routers, they say about 20% more compact than the previous P601 18V compact router model. It also has an LED light to illuminate the work surface, which allows for better vision when working.
It also includes a vacuum attachment, as shown in the picture. This helps to reduce the mess caused by chips and saw dust.

Next on the list are a couple of Ryobi safety glasses which are dubbed the Ryobi Flex safety glasses. You can choose from clear or tinted lenses. Both models feature impact resistant and anti fog lenses rated for 99.9% ultraviolet protection, even the clear model. Both have frames and temples that can flex independently from the lens, Ryobi stating this is to improve fit and airflow. They were spotted on the Direct Tools factory outlet page priced at each.
