A tip suggested that Milwaukee might soon release a 12.0 Ah battery, likely M18 battery, and a M18 chainsaw. This tip is not confirmed by me and it cannot be supported by any other evidence. I have therefore marked this RUMOR. There’s a good chance that this could be false, at least for the immediate future.

Although I can’t confirm that they are currently in production, I don’t doubt Milwaukee will make them in the near future. Bosch already sells 12.0 ah 18V battery packs so it makes sense for Milwaukee to make its own. Milwaukee’s 9.0 ah battery, which was still in development, was groundbreaking at the time. It was also ahead of the rest in battery technology until Dewalt came up with their 9.0ah battery (Flexvolt). Bosch announced recently a 10.5 ah battery, and then a 12.0 Ah. So it only makes sense other manufacturers follow suit to stay competitive.

My thoughts on the Milwaukee M18 chainsaw are the same as those of the 12.0 batteries. The current M18 OPE line does not have one. It currently has 4 tools, with 2 being the same type (blower). They need additional tools like a chainsaw and mower to stay competitive. I am confident they most certainly can but the question is if they will and when?
