Ridgid just announced a bunch of new brushless power tools to their 18V line up! Although there are many, this article will focus on their 18V brushless framing, 18 gauge nailers, and brushed motor grease gun. The 18V grease gun will launch in April 2022, while the 18 gauge brad nailer will launch June 2022. The two framing nailers will launch July 2022. Ridgid announces two new framing nails as their latest addition to cordless nailers. A 21 degree framing and a 30 degree framing nailer with the spotlight being on the 21 degree model. The 21 degree model is described as having a powerful brushless motor that performs similarly to a pneumatic nailer. It can drive 5 cm-3.

Ridgid didnt supply any specifics in their press release regarding this 30 degree model however it does share the same body with the only visible difference being the magazine that can accept 30 degree nails. Another Ridgid promotion mentioned that both framing nailers offer the same up to 750 nails per charge, zero ramp up time, and up to 3 nails per second, so I would assume this model is practically the same as the 21 degree model except for the magazine that accepts 3o degree nail strips. It will be able shoot at a more extreme angle because of the extra angling. It will be priced at the same price as a baretool.

Ridgid already owns an 18V brushless 18 gauge nailser, however this model is smaller and more compact than the one shown in the image. I didn’t see any mention of zero ramp-up time, so this model seems to ramp up before it shoots. However, if it is anything like the old model, it should still shoot very quickly after pressing the trigger. Clean Drive is their marketing slogan that claims 17x more consecutive perfect drives. They also mention a small nose tip for better visibility and is said to be able to drive flush at all angles with no driver slip. The reviews will confirm this, but it will be interesting to see if the model is true to their claims. Runtime is great with up to 3,500 nails per charge with their 6ah battery. You can also use it for single or bump fire, dryfire lockout to prevent blank shots when the tank is empty, tool-free depth of drive, tool-free power adjustment, and tool-free jam release. It will be priced at as a baretool.

Their 18V grease gun is last but not least. These tools are not something I know about as I have never used or owned any machinery that requires one. I will let Ridgid’s official press release information do the rest. I will say that it will be available April 2022 for as a baretool.
